What is WellTex
Back on Track's unique science-based textile technologies are at the core of the company. To maximize the beneficial effects of our products, we select the most suitable textile technology for each product category and fuse the minerals into the most appropriate functional material.
Our functional fabrics are selected depending on the desired properties of the end product, such as breathability, stretch, warmth, softness, moisture wicking ability, durability, abrasion resistance and thickness.
The combination possibilities are endless. This gives us great scope for innovation, product development and to constantly find new areas of use.
By combining modern textile technology with traditional Chinese medicine, supported by scientific studies, Back on Track creates products that help people, pets, and horses achieve a more active and comfortable life.
Welltex technology is a state-of-the-art textile technology found exclusively in Back on Track products. This technology uses a proprietary ceramic and mineral solution that reflects body heat as long-wave radiation, also known as far infrared radiation.
Research shows far infrared radiation has multiple benefits for humans and animals, and studies demonstrate wearing Back on Track products can produce these positive effects.
Welltex uses a proprietary ceramic and mineral solution to create the strongest far infrared radiation effect. The ceramic particles and minerals used in Welltex fabrics are selected based on their absorption and emission spectrum.
Benefits of Far Infrared Radiation
Research shows far infrared radiation can benefit animals and people due to several physiological effects. Like other materials, the body’s tissues have their own absorption spectrum. Far infrared radiation can penetrate body tissues more deeply than other wavelengths.
Increased Circulation
Studies show exposure to far infrared radiation increases nitric oxide levels in body tissues. Nitric oxide is a critical chemical messenger in the body. Increased nitric oxide causes vasodilation, which widens blood vessels and increases blood flow.
Healthy circulation is essential for delivering oxygen and nutrients to tissues throughout the body. These effects support recovery and healing while reducing inflammation and pain.
Injury Prevention
In addition to increasing circulation, nitric oxide can activate other molecules in the body that aid muscle relaxation. Relaxation reduces muscle fatigue, while tight muscles can contribute to injuries caused by imbalances and increased strain.
Reduced Recovery Time
Some studies linked far infrared radiation to increased rates of healing due to bio-stimulation. Researchers in the studies found that exposure to FIR increased several biological processes involved in healing injuries, including growth factor production and collagen synthesis.
Cool on Track
Cool on Track is a technical, cooling material used in the production of the products included in the collection of the same name. The properties of the material are due to its high absorption capacity, i.e. its great capacity to soak up large amounts of water - much like a kitchen sponge. When the water evaporates, the material provides a pleasant, refreshing effect. The surface does not feel wet, but cold. No chemicals are involved. The products are intended to help animals regulate their body temperature and better withstand heat. Cool on Track™ is an excellent material for this application because it provides continuous cooling and can be re-wetted as needed.
Unique features
- Cooling by evaporation
- Durable mesh material
- High absorbency
*Please note Cool on Track products do not contain FIR emitting material
