Hock Boots (Pair)

Availibility: In Stock

Item Description

The Back on Track Hock Boots are a unique garment and a great treatment option for curbs and sprains, any arthritic changes or general maintenance of the hock area. They are vital to be used as a pre-competition garment, as they can alleviate pain associated with inflammation and swelling, and therefor greatly improve mobility and subsequent performance. Ideal also for stallions during the breeding season. Horses must be in an upright position and not allowed to roll or lie down while wearing the hock boots. The are designed for stable, travel or pre-competition use and not recommended for paddock use. Sold in pairs. There are two styles of hock boots:-

Standard Hock: Covers the whole hock area.  If you are specifically trying to reduce inflammation and swelling of a "capped hock" we recommend this option. If the boot tends to slide down the leg, apply a bandage to the cannon area to eliminate the slide.

Hock with Hole: These are designed with an opening for the cap area.  This options allows them to sit on the hock a little easier and eliminates any slide. If you are not treating the cap area, this style is recommended.

Royal Hock Brace: These have a padded inner similar to the Royal Quickwraps. They also have an opening for the cap area, however the padding fully covers the hock. This allows them to sit more stably on the hock while still covering the hock cap. The soft padding helps reduce any rubbing associated with bandaging such a mobile joint.

Fabric: 100% Welltex polypropylene ceramic textile.
